What Is Algae?
Algae are a diverse group of marine-based plants. There are around 40,000 species of algae, ranging from single-celled organisms to larger algae, such as seaweed.
Algae is also a natural source of Omega-3 fatty acids, supplying both EPA and DHA. Algae is in fact the reason why fatty and oily fish contain healthy fats. They can’t produce EPA and DHA naturally, but by eating microalgae fish become sources of Omega-3 themselves.
